Baby name vote

Okay so going away from the marriage challenge I have a question for everyone. Tonight at dinner we talked about Macie's name. Her first name will deff be Macie but now I am not so sure on her middle name. Colby likes Macie Marie Meier (which seems like a lot of m's to me but still i like the sound of it) and I have always liked Macie Lee Meier.
Oh and I guess this information might help
*Marie is my middle name
* Lee is Colby's mom and Grandmas middle name, along with my Cousins middle name and my uncles first name.

So whats everyones vote?
*Macie Marie Meier

Marriage Question # 8 and 9

Post 8 would have been tiny so i decided to combine them.

8. the little accessories: you know, veil? shoes? jewelry? what did your bridesmaids wear?

9. the ceremony and reception: where was it at? show us some pictures! what day did you get married?

Accesories
I did have a veil, i'm pretty sure it's only one I tried on too. I didn't think to try a few out. Good thing I liked the one I ended up with :) I wore a pearl necklace and earrings that I borrowed from my third grandma and grandma's best friend Mary :) it was beautiful. I also had little pearly bobby pins that went into my hair. I decided not to have a bridal party because I felt it was unneeded and I didnt want to have to make my family and friends buy a pricey outfit.

Ceremony and reception
Colby and I were Married in the St George temple on June 28th 2008. The sealing was very short and I couldn't believe how quickly it went. The only thing that could have made the sealing better would have been if my parents could have been there but since they were there for everything after the sealing it was still perfect :)
My mother in law Vicki helped me get dressed (i was sealed in my temple dress). I am so grateful to have such a great mother in law who I get along with so well.
We took pictures at the temple for about an hour and then Colby and I headed back to Cedar. We arrived at the place of our reception and I peaked in to see how it looked. I looked around and everything was different. Basically nothing was what I had told the decorator and at first I was really upset but I got over really quick and decided it was pretty anyway and I was just going to be happy that day.
We had a Luncheon before the reception started. It was delicious! Pastry Pub catered and I am in love with Pastry Pub. Te reception started at 3:30 and I was surprised at how many people were there. I felt like I was in line forever talking to people! I m very grateful they all came to support us.

Marriage Question #7

7. the dress: was it what you always imagined? did you have it made for you? white or ivory?

I loved loved loved my dress! It was amazing and I wish I could wear it again! It's sad you only wear it one day. I took my family with me to help pick it out. I told the lady i didn't want a poofy dress but that was all she seemed to bring me. I tried on a whole bunch and found one i really liked but it was pretty puffy. My sister remembered me admiring a dress on a display when we walked away and she talked to the lasdy and I was able to try it on. I was sold as soon as I put it on. The dress was white (which i also thought I didn't want because of how pale I am) and gorgeous! I am so grateful my sister spoke up when I was too shy too.

Marriage Question #6

6. the colors: show some of the flower and colors you used

This will probably be a very short post since there is not much that can be said about colors. The colors we had for our wedding were dark purple, lavender and cream. I think I surprised a lot of people with my choices. It is no secret that I am a large fan of the color pink so it surprised people when I didn't use it. to be honest I chose my colors soley off of a picture of a bouquet i saw online. i fell in love with it and based my colors off of it.

This was my bouquet :) it turned out perfect!

This is my cake with pretty flowers on it :)

questions 4 and 5

4. the ring: tell us about it! did you pick it out? did he? pictures! tell us about his ring too!

5. engagement/bridal pictures: let's see em!'

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the ring but its pretty trust me :) It may be small but I still love it. (and deff not bad for two 17 year olds getting engaged :) ) We got it from Fred Meyers in St George and it is a princess cut with diamonds on the bad as well. I am not currently wearing it (due to my lovely pregnancy)or i would try and take a picture of it. Colby's ring is a simple tungsten band that I picked out. It is really nice and still looks brand new 3 years later. :)

I dont have many of my engagments on this computer, just the one I had on fb so i only have one to share

I didnt have an actual bridals session but this was taken at the temple on our actual wedding day...Have I ever mentioned how much I loved my dress!!!!

Marriage Question #3

3. proposal: how it happened, how long were you engaged for? was it a total surprise?

My proposal story is far from the typical perfect but I love it! I knew he was going to propose but I didn't know when. I helped him pick out the ring but he made the final choice. He had the ring for a whole month before he asked me and it KILLED me. I was so anxious to get wear my ring! I think i was even getting a little mad at him. I would check the ring box in his room before we left to go anywhere and get really upset everytime it was still in the bag and box.
A few days after my niece Calina was born we decided to drive up to some mountain place (sugar something)It had snowed pretty good that week but we were in the Montero and didnt think we would have any problems..that car is a beast :) So we start driving up a dirt road covered in snow and the Montero failed us for the first time. We were stuck. Has hard as Colby tried he couldn't get us out. Underneath the thin layer of snow was a nice thick layer of Ice. Luckily we had cell service and we called our brother in law Andy. He came to rescue us (even though he had a brand new baby at home) it was going to be an hour or two so we decided to play some cards and sit on the roof of the car and look at the stars. A little while later we decided to go for a walk and it was beautiful. It was so pretty with all the snow and stars. A little ways into the walk i was starring up at the stars and when i turned back Colby was on the ghttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifround (to be honest i thought he tripped) after i realized what was happening i started listening to what he was saying. He said the sweetest things and finally asked if I would marry him. Of course i said yes and then I finally got wear my ring :)...He was so sneaky too, he apparently knew i checked often on it so he waited till after I checked then slipped it in his pocket. It has been over three years since that night and I can't believe it!

The Stuck Montero

Marriage Question #2

2. when you knew he was the one: self explanatory.. but how and when did you know?

I have thought about this question for a long time and still don't know the answer! I am not sure if there was just one moment when I realized he was the one. I think one of the first big moments was when he went on a cruise with his family for Christmas our junior year of HS (yeah i missed that family cruise by a year! i think another is in order) I spent the week with friends and was actually really busy but I missed Colby a ton. I didn't realize it was possible to miss someone so much who was only gone a week. I think that was when we started becoming more "inseparable."
Other small moments also contributed to realizing he was the one. He was amazing with his niece and nephew (back when the grandkid crew was tiny still :) ) He was patient and they loved playing with him. I knew he would be a great dad someday (and he is an AMAZING one)
I wish I could pin point it to one moment but I have loved him from almost the beginning of our relationship and I think I have somehow always known I would be with him and Love him forever :)

Marriage Challange Question 1

1. how it all began: how you met, first date, first kiss, how long did you date? first picture together.....etc.

How we met that is a good question. depending on which one of us you ask the answer may vary. Colby will tell you we met in 8th grade in science class. He apparently sat in front of me and would talk to me about the girl he liked (who happened to be my first friend in Utah) I however don't remember him at all..oops...I would say the first time we met was in 9th grade when he liked yet another one of my friends. We would stop and talk (the three of us) in the hallway every now and then. We didnt really start talking "alone" until sophomore year in Human Bio. We sat near each other and had a stupid game where we would tell each other "only 50 more hours" when there was 50 minutes left of class..yeah we're lame I know. :)

First Date: We were friends for a while but not really much out of that class. Around the end of January of our sophomore year my sister kept bugging me to ask someone to sweethearts (our schools Valentines Day dance) since it would be the first dance after I turned 16. I finally agreed and asked Colby. I wasn't looking for anything more then going out with a friend. I remember calling his mom (after calling literally every other Meier number in the phone book...I didn't think of Dana as a mans name..oops again..) His mom seemed so excited and agreed to get him out of the house that night for me. I went and decorated his room with some cheesy poem about looking for a sparkling night out with one of my buds. The day date started out a little awkward but we had fun in our group bowling and eating some yummy food. I'll admit i wasn't the best date at the dance but luckily Colby gave me another chance :)
This is the first picture we ever took together.. My family always makes fun of us for it saying it looks like a brother sister pose. I still think we look little and cute haha

We didn't start officially dating until October 3rd 2006. (we basically were dating long before that though but maintained our claim to "just friends" We dated 'officially" for almost 2 years before we got married and a year and 3 months before we got engaged.

First Kiss: Our first kiss was a few days after we "officially" started dating. We went to the Cedar High Homecoming game. It was drizzling a bit and at half time we decided to walk to KB to get a drink and snack. We were sharing a giant blanket and covering our heads from the rain. we tripped over the blanket and before colby helped me up he leaned down and kissed me. It was perfect :)

I'm still in love with boy and think this challenge is going to be fun :)

Late Night Ramblings

I am completely exhausted but for some reason can not sleep. I'll blame it on pregnancy insomnia :).. Macie is also kicking like crazy right now so that makes it a little hard to sleep as well.. I love the feeling though! She is just like me already, such a night owl and not a morning person. Maybe we will get lucky and she will be like her big brother and sleep in late in the morning as well...one can hope right?

Lately i have not been working many hours and although financially that is deff a big change, there are so many blessings tied in with my new job. I never realized what a strain working at wal-mart was on my marriage and family. In no way was it ever in trouble but i never realized how wonderful it really is to be home every night with your family and all day on the weekends. I never realized how much i was missing. I now am here for every bath time and can tuck my sweet little boy into bed every night. I am able to see and spend time with my husband every night (during school time it is a lot less but still more then i did when i was working nights) I never realized how much i was missing but am so grateful for the way it is working out now.

Tonight my sister and her husband Garren came over to have a fondu "party" and play games. It really was a lot of fun..and super delicious! I am so grateful for the close relationship my sister and I share now and that our husbands get along really well too. I can see us doing many things together in the future with our families and I really look forward too it!

Since no post is complete without cute Lucas information, here it is:
* he now folds his arms for prayer and if mommy or daddy takes to long to finish he will say amen to get it to end.
*he is talking in little sentences and it is super cute!
*he is turning into a little boy and moving further and further away from being my baby. He and daddy have fun playing in a more rough energetic way.
* I may be super bias but he is brilliant and so adorable and I love him to pieces!

Update and 10 things :)

Life has been crazy lately. Lucas is growing up so fast and I wish it would slow down a little bit! i decided he can act more like a toddler when his baby sister gets here...but not till then :) Chances of that happening? Yeah i know, but I can pretend.
It is crazy how much he is turning into a little boy! He is talking so much now and even says little sentences. He is learning simple sign language and it's super cute. He now folds his arms for prayer and says amen at the end (or whenever he feels like it should be over because mommy or daddy is taking to long) He is also showing signs of beginning to be ready to potty train! He knows when he goes and lets me know and often tells me right before...keeping my fingers crossed, i'd love to limit the time that i have two kids in diapers! He is quite the little character and keeps us laughing. Yesterday Colby and I were trying to do his hair and he wanted nothing to do with it so I told him Mommy and Daddy were the boss and he looks at us and says "I the boss" He may be a little stinker but he sure is cute :)

Yesterday Colby and I were able to go to the Temple together for my sisters endowments. I can't believe she is getting married this Friday! I am so excited for her! I am also really excited for all the family coming into town this week. Most of them have not met Lucas and I am excited to show him off :)
I don't have any pictures from the temple but it was a really good afternoon :)

We are only one week away from Colby being done with this Semester! SOOO excited but then sadly he is taking Maymester and both Summer sessions. Luckily May will only be Racquetball and a few Pharmacy application prep courses, so we should get to see him a lot :)

This pregnancy has been so much different this time. With Lucas we had so many scares in the begining and so many things that caused worry. This time everything is going smooth and for some reason i find myself worrying more :p i guess the memories of my first preg. have caused me to worry more than i need too. I am super grateful that my morning sickness is 95 % gone. I am able to enjoy the pregnancy a little more now even though it comes with aches and pains. I know they come with the territory though and just am so excited to meet Macie :)

I thought i would end by doing what I have seen in most blogs I have been reading lately and do the whole "10 things I love about myself"

1)I think i am good with money and am a good saver.
2)I like to think I am a good mom
3)I think I am a good listener
4)While my self confidence may not be the best I do think I have pretty eyes
5)I feel like I am a good wife, and do what I can to help Colby with his Pharmacy goals.
6)I enjoy writing in mt free time and do pretty well with it.
7)I may not have the best background with cooking but I believe that i am a good cook and am not afraid to try new things.
8)I have struggled with being active in the Church my whole life but feel I am finally at a good place with it and have a strong testimony and Love where i am in my life and am excited for my little family to keep it going.
9)I believe i forgive easily and like to think I am easy to get a long with.
10) Last but not least I believe i am very open hearted and I love my family more than anything in the world and am excited to be adding one more member this summer :)

I always read that was hard at the end of everyones post and when i read them i think that doesnt look too hard. I think everything they said is without a doubt true..but that really was HARD!

Slowly i am trying to get better at this blogging thing. So here id to hoping i can!
