Halloween 2010!
I can not believe Lucas just experienced his second Halloween! I don't know who told him he could grow up so fast, I am not okay with that! I wish I could slow time done but since I can not I am trying to enjoy every moment of it.
This year for Halloween Lucas was the cutest Dragon alive. He looked so stinking cute in his costume. I'm getting ahead of myself though, a lot happened before Lucas became the cutest dragon alive.
This year we have been so incredibly busy! I feel like we are always going going going. Sadly this means very little time to be all together as a family and especially no time for Colby and I to have alone. We were very fortunate this past weekend and got to have a real date night! We got to go to St. George for dinner and then went to the Howl at SUU. It was such a great night and I loved every minute of it. I have such wonderful In-Laws who are such great grandparetns and love to spend time with Lucas.

On Utah's Halloween I had to work in the morning but got off pretty early. After http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifwork Colby and I played electronic life with my sister and her boyfriend Garren. Sadly we didn't get to finish. We some how lost track of time and ended up being late to my in-laws ward trunk or treat. I look forward to the trunk or treat every year. We eat yummy soups and get lots of candy...what could be better?

Day 2
day 2- the meaning behind you blog name
Probably pretty obvious but my blog is named Meier Moments because it is about the moments of my little families life. I guess you can't get more simple then that!

Top Ten Reason I am Glad Lucas Wade Meier Was born
10. He is perfect in every way
9. He gives me a legit reason to watch cartoons and old Disney movies
8. He allows me to know a softer and new Colby, It allows me to love him even more even when i thought it was impossible.
7. He is honestly the happiest person I know, he loves life and lets very little bother him.
6. He has his own little sense of humor and at times laughs at himself.
5. He teaches me to be patient and take time to just live in the moment.
4. He keeps me motivated and keeps my head in the right place.
3.He can always make you smile.
2. He can sense when I am sad and, even though he is in no way a cuddly baby, he will give me a hug.
1. He shows me what true unconditional love is.
I have never been an emotional person but for some reason the thought of my little bug turning one has hit me hard. I can not believe it has already been a year. It feels like I was just holding him in my arms in the hospital, now he is crazy little boy who has a mind of his own. I can't imagine my life without him.
His party ws a great success. It was nice to have friends and family come celebrate with us. Lucas was spoiled as expected and had a great time.
Heres to decades of more years like this last one. I love you more than anything in the world Lucas Wade Meier.

Summer Time
This summer has been so crazy! It is sad to think school starts next week and Colby and I just got to start our summer break a week ago :( We aren't wasting any time.
We started our two week summer vacation by going to SLC to see Colby's brother Dana. After seeing the strength his brother has I realize what a strong family I have married into.
The weekend in SLC was a success though and we had so much fun! We decided not to cram pack our weekend this time and were able to relax and enjoy our time. We helped his grandma with some weeding on Saturday morning and then headed to his brothers house and spent a couple hours visiting. Lucas gave his Aunt Claire some much needed cuddle time. After leaving their house we had a little time to kill before heading back to Colby's grandmas for dinner, so we decided to go to Clark planetarium. Lucas loved all the colors and we had a good time there.

Grandma and Grandpa Meier loved Lucas. He had such a good time playing at their house.

This past weekend we were able to go to camping at Lake Powell with Colby's parents and it was so much fun! His aunt Carol also came and the 6 of us had a great time. We camped in a nice seclude beach and spent our day boating and bobbing in the water. I decided my new favorite thing is laying in the water in a blowup chair. It was pretty fantastic! Sunday morning before coming home we were able to get a little wakeboarding and water skiing in. Everyone was able to get up and have fun. I was the weak link and fell the fastest but I do think i beat my own record :)Lucas also did so great! I am such a lucky mom to have such a great little boy! He was so happy the whole weekend! He LOVED the water. We bought him a little floatie toy with a little shade hood and he just loved splashing around in it!
Sadly I didnt get any pictures this trip :(
Next weekend we look forward to another camping trip up in the mountains with family and friends :)
OH and big news (probably more for us but nice to share anyways :)) Colby successfully completed both organic chemistry I and II this summer! A very difficult thing but then again I married a smart man :)

Bad Blogger

I am by far one of the worst bloggers. I need to get better at updating a little more frequently. A lot has happened since the last time i posted, so here it goes!
Colby finished yet another great semester. I am so blessed to have such an intelligent, dedicated man. He is so determined and dedicated and it pays off. Unfortunetly Colby did not get much of a summer break. Starting in June is time devouring Organic Chemistry class began. This is among, if not,the toughest class at SUU. Majority of people who take o chem I and II have to repeat the course. Colby is doing very well though, as I knew he would.
We are slowly making some changes in out home. We are in the process of turning our basement into an apartment. The cabinets arrived a few weeks ago and slowly they are being installed and they are amazing! I am so excited for the final product. We are also replacing all the upstairs windows. I am so anxious for them to be installed. Having new windows will be such a great improvement. The ones we have now are complete crap.
Another change in our lives, is my sister,Larissa, came to live with us for a little while. It is great having her here. Lucas loves his Aunt Larissa and they have a lot of fun playing together. She works at convergys in the mornings but is nice to have her home in the afternoons.
Working at Wal-Mart is actually going really well for me. I actually enjoy it. I get a long with a lot of the other cashiers and enjoy being able to talk to other adults. On the 28th of June Colby and I celebrated our second anniversary. Time sure does go by quickly. For our anniversary we originally planned to go to Zion and go hiking but the extreme heat quickly changed our plans, We spent a nice day shopping in St George, had a nice dinner, and went to the IMAX and saw Prince of Persia and it was amazing! I loved it. I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man.
As for the person that most people care to hear about it, Lucas is growing up so fast and I can hardly believe it. It is so fun to see him turn into his own little person. He is so mobile now and deff. keeps me busy! We went to his nine month check up on monday and I was really expecting him to have shot up on the weight charts but i was wrong he actually dropped a percent. He is now 17.1 pounds which is in the 6th percentile and is 27 inches tall and in the 14th percentile, but is expected to shoot up on the height charts very soon.
Colby and I discovered he have one tiny flaw in our good money skills, that little problem is named Lucas. Every time we go to St. George we always buy him a new toy, and its always a much bigger toy then needed! He is one spoiled boy! Our most recent purchase was a pool. Lucas loves it! If I believed in reincarnation i would have thought he was a fish of some sort in a past life.
As for my terrible blogging skills, i will try to be better :p
Hope every one has a great 4th! (or 5th as Utah likes to make it :p)

This last weekend was one to celebrate in the Meier family! Two family members graduated this las weekend. My mother in law Vicki, after working full time and going to school graduated with a Bachelors in Business and my sister in law Clarissa Crosby graduated with her Master, and did so while working full time and raising two little girls!
So happy for them both! Over the weekend there were plenty of people who came down to celebrate. Unfortunately i missed a good portion of the celebrations because I had to work :(
Here is the Meier clan after the graduation ceremony..that is the Meier clan minus me :( I had to leave early to get to work. This coming weekend Claire will graduate as well! Congrats to her as well!

Long over due

We were hoping to have a nice easy summer but that doesn't look like it is going to happen either. It looks like Colby will be taking O chem this summer instead of in the fall. I think it s dumb that their are so many seats open in the actual class but only have as many open in the labs. Oh well it will be nice to have him done with O chem at the end of the summer. I am not looking forward to being husbandless for 2 months though. It's all for the best though right :p
I am also taking classes this summer but all will be online. I am so close to getting my associates i can feel it. It will be so nice to be finished after this fall.
Now for some more upbeat news. I am planning to start real estate school this summer in St George. I am very excited to start this. I also recently got a job. I will be working in apparel at Wally's World. I am hoping to lighten Colbys already heavy load and ease some stress for him.
Lucas is growing up so fast. I can't believe he is already over six months old. I don't know where time has gone. I wish it would slow down a little but i am enjoying every minute of it.
As of two weeks ago these were his stats
Height 26 inches (35th percentile)
Weight 14 lbs 6 ounces (7th percentile)
As i write this i realize just how far behind i am on this. We have gone on our first little family vacation and had our first Easter as a little family.
During Spring break we took a weekend trip to SLC and visted family. Lucas did amazingly well on this trip. He is quite the little trooper. We started the weekend by having a little visit with Larissa in Provo then we headed up to Murry to see Grandma and Grandpa Meier, and of course Grandma had a family party and their were sooo many people there! The next day we spent some more time with Larissa and then went to Claire and Dana's house to stay the night. They made us some delicious food and we had a nice little visit. We ended the trip by going to see Colby's grandma Jan. She made us a nice lunch and we had a good time. We were sad to see the weekend end but were happy to get home to. Traveling with a baby can be exhausting! I think we packed up his whole room to take with us!
Easter was nice too. It was simple and relaxing and we were able to visit with family. I will add pictures as soon as i upload them. Below are just some random family pics form this past month or so.

Were goofballs too :)

Growing up and Getting Old
I official understand the saying "there are never enough hours in a day." Lately I feel as if i am always behind! This last month or so has showed me what being busy really means. Although i do enjoy being back in school it has been very hard leaving Lucas. The first two weeks were really hard. I felt like I was always leaving him at my moms (although i am so grateful that she is able to watch him) I slowly am adjusting to the fact that it is for the best. Nights so far seem to be the hardest. Colby and I both have a full schedule and have a lot of homework and studying to do. It seems like Lucas can be a happy little guy playing on the floor and then the second I pick up a book to do homework he wants attention. This is usually what i get to listen to while doing my work.
A lot of the time I give in because he is just being too dang cute and we play. This however is very bad study habits! Luckily so far I have been doing really well in my classes. I am lucky to have a smart husband who can help me with my math when i do not understand something. We are a pretty good match, I do well in English and he does well in Math and Science. Although i don't see him needing much help with English this semester since our class is "Writing about Comic book." It is a very fun class.
Lucas is getting so big, so fast. I don't know where the time went. I can't believe it has already been four months! He is such a happy little guy and we are so blessed to have him in our family. He had his four month check up last week and these were his stats:

Weight: 12lbs (7-8%)
Height: 24in. (25%)

Now for the getting old part. Colby and I both turned 20 two weeks ago. Yay for no longer being teen parents! We had a great week filled with birthday events. We had a nice dinner with my parents in St. George and Colby's mom made us a really yummy dinner. His sister Lissa made us a really yummy cake too (Pumpkin my favorite)

Height: 24in. (25%)
His weight percentile has dropped but his height percentile has almost doubled. He recently started eating solids and is doing pretty well. He seems to like rice cereal but is not so sure about peas yet. he will eat them but have a not so nice face the entire time. He likes to eat it off of his own hands more than anything.
Lucas has recently started his own little game. We will put him on his play mat and he well tug and kick at it until the arch above him falls over. He also likes to get himself completely turned around on the mat. He acts all innocent when we come to fix his mat, little monster :)Now for the getting old part. We also recently also got new counter tops in our kitchen. I LOVE them! They changed the look of our kitchen so much.
I'll end with some cute Lucas pictures
