Life in general

We took Macie to her 4 month appointment today. She is 12 lbs 12 oz (20th percentile) and just under 24 inches long (30th percentile) She has a big head though in the 67th percentile (needs a big head for her big brain :))She is a very healthy girl though. These last 4 months have flown by and we can't imagine now having this sweet girl in our lives. She is starting to "babble" all the time and I love it!.. Lucas is starting to enjoy her more now too.. They are going to be such good friends :)

Lucas is crazier than ever..but in a way it has become easier. He is starting to get such a cute little imagination and I love to watch him play. He is at a point now where I can let him play in a room without me being in there. He is also talking so well lately. We can actually ask him what he wants or what is wrong and get an answer. Makes like soooo much easier!

Over the weekend we celebrated my great grandpas 100th birthday. My great uncle threw a great party for him and so many people came to celebrate with him. It amazes me that he is able to hold his great great grandson and granddaughter. Macie and him are just a few months shy of a century apart. I wish it would be possible for him to watch them grow up but I know realistically people don't usually live to be 118 years old.

While this may not be the best post, It is late and i am trying to be a better blogger so hopefully the next post is better!

Fat is a bad word

Today I decided that the word Fat will be considered a bad word in our home. I admit growing up I had a terrible (and still struggle with) a bad self image of myself. I spend way too long trying to pick out what I am going to wear..trying to find the outfit that I feel doesn't make me look too "fat". I hate 99% of pictures taken of me and do my best to avoid it being taken. I have stupid little things that I do all the time because I feel uncomfortable, such as always holding something in my lap when I sit down, like a pillow or blanket, to help hide myself.
I know that if I continue to have my insecurities, I have a great chance of passing them onto my daughter. This is something I NEVER want to happen. I want her to think she is beautiful no matter what she looks like, because she will be.
So while I know I have a long road to go to get over my insecurities I will start by eliminating my negative comments about myself and vow to never use the word fat in my home and hope that as Macie gets older I can teach her to love herself rather than feel self conscious and follow the same path that I did.
She deserves to always feel beautiful because she is and always will be.

kids say (and do) the darndest things!

I love my crazy boy more and more everyday. He makes me smile and laugh on a daily basis and i would be lost without him! I love this age so much! He is becoming quite the good little talker and really enjoy it.
The following are just a few of the many things he has done to make me laugh or smile lately.
* He loves his little sister so much and is such a good big brother! He loves to give her kisses and is so excited to see her every morning. Today he wanted me to lay her on his pillow pet with him so he could pretend to sleep next to her :)

* Yesterday we went to smiths and they have these cute kid carts and Lucas was so excited! He unfortunately was a little too excited and was quite the little crazy to chase after! I helped him by holding onto the front of the cart and guiding it, if i took my hand off he would freak out until I put it back in the same spot.

*Lately Lucas has been doing this cute little sleep thing. He will be running around playing and then turn to me and say "I Sleep" then lay down and pretend to snore..so cute!He did it in the top of a cart at wal mart earlier this week. Also if we say Lucas go to sleep he will stop where ever he is and pretend to be asleep.

* Last night Colby and I were putting Lucas to bed and we asked if he was going to be a big boy and not cry and he said "no ill cry"..and he did

Love this little boy!

Just Family :)

It's been a while since I last posted. I am pretty bad at this whole blogging thing! A lot has changed in the past couple months.
Colby has been traveling a lot lately for Pharmacy school interviews but they have paid off! He has already received a couple offers and we paid a deposit to save a seat at LECOM Bradenton in Florida. As of now that is where we will be moving this summer. He will be interviewing at two more schools after new years and they are both much closer to home and may out rank the Florida school in our books, but it's not for sure yet. One is U of U and the other is Roseman University and it has two campuses one in Henderson and one in South Jordan. It is going to definitely be a new adventure regardless of where we end up. Moving away does terrify me, I won't lie. I love being near family and friends and it scares me to move away, knowing Colby will be busier then he ever has been, and afraid i will be extremely lonely. I know I will have my two cute munchkins but adult talking time is always nice too.

Moving on...Lucas is already 2! I have no idea where the time went! I love that little boy more and more every day. He is turning into such a great big brother and always wants to give his sister hugs and kisses :) He is slowly Learning how to be more patient and his attention span is slowly growing as well..thank goodness haha.

Macie is growing up too quickly as well. She is already almost three months old. I wish I could slow time down a little bit but I am also enjoying every minute I have with her. She is slowly turning into her own little person and I love watching it happen. She has her rough moments but she is generally a happy baby and we are so lucky to have her in our family.

Adjusting to Two

Macie has officially been home for 2 weeks now! I can not believe how quickly time is passing by. With Lucas I was always excited for the next step. I couldn't wait for him to be awake more, laugh, and crawl. With Macie now I realize how fast it really does go by and I just want her to stay little!
The first week home with her was pretty easy. I had Colby home with me, except for the occasional break for classes. This last week however he returned to work and adjusting was a little more difficult. I am so lucky to have a easy going baby but that still doesn't mean it is easy :) My energetic two year old keeps me on my toes! I can not wait until I can take them both out to do things. Lucas is getting so stir crazy staying home all day, every day!
Lucas Loves his little sister but does have jealousy issues at times. He gets mad sometimes when I am feeding her and he wants to play, but i think he is adjusting pretty well.
Lucas was a great sleeper from the beginning and was the easiest baby. He never really cried and was very easy going. We joked that Macie would be our wake up call for what a "real" newborn was like but she is even better then he was!(knock on wood) I don't know how we got so lucky!
Although it has been a little challenging getting into a good routine with both kids, I am really enjoying finally having Macie home with us :) I am so lucky to have my kids :)
To end here are some pictures of my little Loves :)

Look alike?

I can't decide if I think Lucas and Macie look alike. So I thought I would post a few pictures and see what others thought.

These are pictures of Lucas

This is Miss Macie

Also random side note but today is my official due date but I am very glad to have a two week old instead :)

Introducing Macie!

I love the fact that I can write this post 6 days before my due date and Macie is already 6 days old. I don't know how people manage to make it to 40+ weeks! I have been lucky to have both of my kids at 38 weeks :)
We are so thankful to have Macie home with us and that she is healthy and there were no real problems. She is such a sweet little girl and we can't imagine life without her already. She is so calm so far. Her big brother loves her so much already! He wants to hold her multiple times a day and loves to give her kisses. There are times when he doesnt want daddy to hold her but luckily these times have been very few.
So a little about her actual birthday. Macie Marie Meier (yeah lots of m's!) was born August 18th at 4:06 pm. She weighed 7lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches. She is a great sleeper..a little to good. She slept so much at the hospital that she couldn't stay awake long enough to eat and therefor we had a little blood sugar problem. We ended up staying an extra night to ensure that she was able to keep her blood sugar up. Luckily now she is a good eater although I still usually have to wake her up to feed her but she stays awake long enough to eat. She even is starting to wake up for short periods of time to just "hang out." For having a newborn at home we really are getting quite a bit of sleep. I think I am able to sleep more now then I was my final month of pregnancy. We usually wake her up every 4 hours at night at three hours during the day...i know i should probably not get use to making her schedule myself, i'm sure soon enough she will take over but for now it is really nice!
Colby has been able to take time off of work and it has been so helpful with Lucas. Although he still has classes we still get a good amount of time with him at home :) Next week the real fun begins though and Lucas, Macie and I will be home alone most of the day. For now we will enjoy the time we have together as a family :)

Lucas didnt like all the attention MAcie was getting so he turned the camera himself and took this picture :)
