Christmas and Blessing

It's hard to believe that Christmas has already come and gone. These past few months have just seemed to fly by! We had a wonderful Christmas and although Lucas was not able to show it, he was very excited about his first Christmas :). We started off by having a little alone Christmas at home on Christmas eve where we opened presents with Lucas. He got a Bumbo and so far he seems to enjoy it. After our little Christmas at home we headed to the Meier's for a very yummy dinner, my mother-in-law is a very good cook! We then opened presents and that was quite eventful. We got our nieces shoots n latters and my niece Cambrie informed us that they already had that game, then 5 minutes later they opened another game of shoots n latters from Nichole and Chris

We recieved alot of nice things this year. We are very blessed. Lucas was a spoiled little boy this year. His favorite so far seems to be his play mat. He is a very happy little boy when he is on it. The mat has three little animals dangeling each has little shapes hanging off of them. He is really good at grabbing onto them, he tries so hard to get them into his mouth, but as much as he tries it is never going to happen.

We had a nice night at the Meiers and the next morning we opened a few more presents and had pie (yum) We left early and went to my parents and had waffles (yum again) and opened more presents, Lucas sadly slept through this entire event. We had a yummy dinner (I really must have gained a million pounds these past few days...)
To top everything off we had a little b-day party for Larissa thats evening and that was fun too. The night ended with some rock band at the Meiers.
The next day we went to St George to go shopping (Colby just loved it :p) It was Larissa's birthday and we were glad she came with us. I can't believe she just turned 21! I always thought she was this goody good girl but man i guess turning 21 and legally being able to buy drinks just hit her! She is quite the funny drunk though!..for anyone wh actually knows her you know that last statement was totally false and she wouldn't even consider buying a drink! Anyways the shopping trip was fun and I got some nice deals!
After returining to Cedar (larissa stayed in St george to go to dinner with my parents) we headed to Milts to meet Nick and Kasandra for dinner. It was a nice meal, Colby and i split a steak...basically i ate the salad and he ate the steak (nasty raw meat) and we split rice. After dinner we all dropped our kids off somewhere (after getting a list of demands my parents agreed to take Lucas...lol they would have watched him either way though) and went bowling. It was couple vs. couple, guess which awesome couple won? Yeah thats right Colby and I are awesome, we won by a whole two points lol. It was a fun night.
Today was Lucas' baby blessing. I can not believe how big he is getting. He looked so cute in his little blessing outfit. I was sp nervous for Colby and I don't even know why! I knew he would do a great job, and he did. It was a really great day. We held the blessing at the Meiers and it was a nice little gathering. we had a delicious lunch afterwards thanks to my wonderful mother in-law and we were able to get some good pictures of family.

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Years

Holidays and Life

Lucas is now two months old and I can hardly believe it. It feels like time is going by so quickly, except maybe for those 3 am feedings. At his 8 week check up he was 9 lbs 9 oz and just about 22 inches long. He is in the 14-15 percentile for weight and and 13% for height. With how big he is getting it's hard to think that he is on the smaller side for his age. He is so alert these days and some days I think he must think he is alot older then he is. He goes many days with so little sleep during the day. Most days he only takes 1 or 2 hour long naps. I wish that meant he slept through the night but that is not happening yet, but i think were getting pretty close, he's doing pretty well. A few weeks ago he got his first haircut

Wednesday night before Thanksgiving Colby and my Uncle Ron and I went up to Provo to pick my sister up so she could come home for Thanksgiving. It was alot of driving and I missed Lucas (who stayed at my moms) but it was fun. My family went down to St. George for Thanksgiving dinner and then Colby Lucas and I went his parents house. We got to have some yummy homemade pie and play Beatles rockband.

We decided to do some Christmas shopping on black Friday, although we got a really late start we were still able to find some good deals. We were even able to find Colby jeans that fit him (which is a hard thing to do!) After shopping we met Vicki, Dana, DJ, and Claire at Texas Roadhouse for dinner. After we went back to Vicki and Danas to visit, and so Claire and DJ could see Lucas. Unfortunatly Lucas was overly tired and hungry and had a rare cranky night.

We recently bought my uncles car and it has been so nice having two cars. It makes life so much easier! It will really help when we both start classes in January. We also have been working on getting life insurance and working on a will, both are grim to think about using but we know its best to be prepared.

Time Flys

Lucas is already going to be five weeks old tomorrow! I wish time could have gone this fast when i was pregnant! At his 4 week check up he was 7lbs and 11 oz and 20 inches long, which put him in the 10th percentile for both. He may still be a little guy but he is growing so fast!
For Halloween we went to Colby's parents wards trunk or treat. It was alot of fun. There were lots of people to talk to and lots of yummy chili to eat. Lucas was very cute as a little giraffe and was able to sleep through the entire thing even when loud drums were being played next to him. My nieces and nephew were also there and all were very cute. Cambrie went as a princess bride and Calina was a very cute Lion. Alex was batman, but it took alot of convincing from his mom to get into his costume. He kept insisting he was a little boy not batman. Later he got into the whole being batman and kept blowing a whistle saying "come here bats"...so cute!
This Last week Colby and I registered for spring semester classes. Who knew it would be so difficult trying schedule everything so it worked with Lucas. Having a baby deff. does complicate things, but is most deff. worth it! I'm still hoping to get into Colby's english class and will hopefully know soon if it will happen! I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I'm very lucky to have my mom to watch Lucas while i go to class..although i think it will be very hard at first to leave him so often, it helps knowing he will be with my mom. She is very excited about it too which also helps.
Larissa left for Provo the day after Halloween and I deff have been missing having her here. It was nice having someone to talk to during the day while Colby was at work, well i guess when he was home to since his life seems to be homework and studying these days :(. It was also nice to be able to to take a shower or a little nap and know Lucas was well entertained. Were happy for her being able to go back to school and be with all her friends but we will miss having her here.

2 weeks old

I can't believe Lucas is already two weeks old. I know it doesn't seem very old but the last two weeks seem to have been a blur. Lucas is a very good baby he rarely cries and when he does it's never for long. He sleeps majority of the time but seems to like to be held from 4 to like 7 in the morning, but for now that is fine with me.
We went to the Dr for his two week check up today and he is a very healthy little boy. He now weighs 6 lbs and 15 oz (which is one oz above birth weight) and is in the 10th percentile for weight. He is now 19 1/2 inches long and is in the 14th percentile for height. His head is 14 in. and is in the 22nd percentile.
Were looking forward the days ahead with out little man

The Newest Addition to Our Family

Lucas Wade Meier made his entrance into the world Friday October 2, 2009 and 6:46 am. He arrived 11 days early but weren't all that surprised. I had been saying for weeks that i thought he would arrive on the 2nd while Colby thought he would arrive on the 9th. Colby also thought i would be very disappointed if he didn't come on one of those days..and to be honest I would have. I was just lucky that he came when he came :)
The labor started really slow and i thought it was going to be a very long night and probably long day but after hitting 5 cm everything went really fast and my Dr. wasn't even there when i was complete, all of this happened within an hour of turning 5 cm. When my Dr. got there everything seemed to turn around and everything was chaotic. Lucas dropped to fast and his heartbeat dropped to between 60-90 beats per minute. They had to get him out fast and for me the next 15 minutes were a blur but he came out a very healthy boy weighing 6 lbs 14 oz and was 19 inches long. We were both relieved that he was okay and were then able to see that the 2 nurses and 1 dr had turned into a room full of people. There were at least 6 new faces in the room and neither of us had remembered any of them entering the room.
After everything settled down we were able to relax and enjoy visitors. The next day we were very anxious to go home and it seemed to take forever to be discharged. Now that were home were very excited for our new little family.

The Growing Baby Bump

28 weeks

36 1/2 weeks

I can't believe this pregnancy is finally nearing the end! Baby Lucas Wade Meier will be here in 3 weeks give or take a little and were both very excited. Although the pregnancy has been pretty successful it has definitely not been uneventful. From bedrest in the beginning to scares about possible missed miscarriages there has been plenty to worry about. Most recently i have been sent to ultrasound for the past two Dr. appointments. The first was at 34 weeks. My Dr. was worried because i was only measuring at 31 weeks. I was sent to Labor and delivery first where i was hooked up to monitor to keep track of his little heartbeat, everything seemed fine there so we were then sent to ultrasound to see if Lucas was growing at the correct pace. The Ultrasound also went very well and he was measuring just fine and nothing was wrong at all :) then 2 weeks later i went back for another visit i was 36 weeks and 2 days but i had not grown since 31 weeks again so i was sent to ultrasound again but he was just fine once again :) and measured in at a healthy 6lbs 1 oz. I'm hoping to go the last three weeks uneventful!

Baby Shower!

Last weekend my mother-in-law and mom threw me a baby shower. We had a brunch and it was delicious! My mother-in-law is always quite the chef though. She made quiche and although i have never had it before (and dont like eggs) it was really good. There were so many good kinds to choose from but the asparagus was definitely my favorite. My sister-in-law Lissa also made these pumpkin muffins and they were sooo good, not hard to say considering pumpkin is my favorite kind :)
Games were played but less then planned because of the mass of gifts i had to open. Who would have known that you could get tired of opening presents? Lucas will deff. have quite the little wardrobe and i received basically everything i needed and only had to buy one or two things myself, now thats what i call a gift hall!
There were a couple cute moments with niece Cambri, who turned 4 in April. There was a game where everyone was given a blue pacifier necklace and you werent allowed to say the word baby the entire shower. If someone caught you saying baby they would take your necklace and whoever had the most at the end of the shower won a prize. Well the shower was over my niece was walking around with this little doll and she went over to her Noni (my mother-in-law) and asked her whats this? So Noni responded a baby doll so Cambri then insisted on getting the necklaces because baby had been said, she continued to do this with a few other people and was so excited with all the necklaces she "won."
The shower also happened to be on the same day as a yardsale on my mother in laws street and since its a hard place to find signs had been put up so people could find the sale. I also had put blue balloons up to help people find my shower so when a man came to the door asking if this is where the yard sale was my niece was very adamit that this man could not be there because the baby shower was for girls only. Needless to say she gave everyone quite a few laughs.
Over all the shower was alot of fun and i am very grateful to my mom and mother-in-law for the wonderful shower they threw me!

Molly

So about two months ago we got a new dog (shows how well i do at keeping up with my blog :p) she is part poodle, shiatsu, and small part cocker spanial. She turned one on pioneer day and is actually a very good dog. We got her from the cedar city pound. Although we had no intention of getting a dog, i had gone with my cousin to sign her up to volunteer and found Molly. It didn't take long to convince Colby to let me get her, although he did get a new computer out of the deal :p, now i think he is more attatched to her then anybody and he is probably her favorite person. She didn't really need much training and is learning now to ring a bell to go outside to go to the bathroom..(ya she's pretty smart lol) She did very with my nephew Alex, so we are confident that when the baby comes she will do well with him as well.

Baby News

Although we had planned to wait 3 or 4 years Colby and i are excited to be welcoming our first child this October. A few weeks ago we found out that we're having a little boy. Being that i always wanted a big brother I was excited to have a boy first. We have picked the name Lucas Wade Meier. Lucas is just a name we both like and Wade is Colby's middle name. With only three months till the EDD we feel a little unprepared but are excited for the new changes in out lives!
